Not only could Super Bowl 50 crown a new champion in the NFL, but it could signal a changing of the guard at quarterback.
For years, Peyton Manning was the epitome of an NFL QB, and a generation of fans have imitated Manning's constant pre-snap reads during their backyard football games.
Manning is nearing the end of his career, though, and as he goes, the Cam Newtons of the world may start claiming supremacy at QB. Between his combination of size, athleticism and throwing ability, Newton is unlike just about any quarterback in NFL history.
Newton isn't in the mold of Robert Griffin III, Vince Young or Michael Vick, who either adapted to the standards of the league, thus toning down their scrambling, or failed altogether once opposing defenses were able to negate their mobility.
