Von Miller: Latest News, Rumors and Speculation on LB’s Impending Free Agency

The Denver Broncos are reportedly planning to use the franchise tag on linebacker Von Miller in order to prevent him from hitting the free-agent market.

Broncos Focused on Miller Extension Sunday, Feb. 7 Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported the Broncos will likely have to choose between using the tag on Miller and using it on their presumed quarterback of the future, Brock Osweiler. The current plan is reportedly to tag Miller with the hopes of then working out a long-term deal.  
The 26-year-old linebacker is one of the major reasons the Broncos advanced to face the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 Sunday night. He registered 11 sacks during the regular season and added 2.5 more in the team's AFC Championship Game victory.
Miller is in the final year of his contract and counted more than $9.7 million against the cap for the 2015 season, according to Spotrac.
