Latest on Wake's Contract Status Thursday, Feb. 18 According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are in talks to sign Wake to a contract extension, which would open the door to potentially use the franchise tag on their other big-time defensive end, Olivier Vernon.
Bleacher Report's Jason Cole recently reported Miami's possible interest in locking up Wake as well:
The 34-year-old veteran currently has one year remaining on his deal.
In seven seasons with Miami, Wake has registered 70 sacks, which has garnered him four Pro Bowl selections and one first-team All-Pro nod.
