Browns Reportedly Prepared to Let Gipson Walk Monday, Feb. 22 Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com noted Gipson “would like to remain with the Browns, but no substantial talks have taken place and he’s preparing to move on.” Cabot added that Gipson is set to become a free agent March 9 and can begin negotiations with other teams March 7 since “it appears they’re prepared to let him walk.”
Cabot said Gipson has “made it clear” he wants to come back to Cleveland and shared this quote from the safety from the day after the 2015 campaign ended:
