Former Giants DE Michael Strahan’s Fingers Paid the Price for 15-Year NFL Career

Former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan put together a Hall of Fame career during his 15 seasons in the NFL, but he paid a price for that success on the field.
That price just happened to be the condition of his fingers.
At a recent New York Knicks game, composer Lin-Manuel Miranda got the chance to see what football did to Strahan's fingers. For those who have never seen it before, it isn't pretty.
A few years back, Strahan explained that his fingers used to get injured while trying to grab opposing players on the field (but, of course, he just played through those injuries):
Strahan is hardly the only NFL player to have his fingers messed up as a result of playing football. Former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle and fellow Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz also has a pretty wicked injury:
Was having a Hall of Fame career worth the wild finger injuries? That's up to Strahan and Munoz to determine.
