Lamar Miller Not Franchise-Tagged by Dolphins: Latest Details, Comments

The Miami Dolphins opted against using the franchise tag on running back Lamar Miller before Tuesday's deadline. He's now in line to become an unrestricted free agent if an extension isn't signed before the new NFL league year begins on March 9. 
Adam Schefter of ESPN confirmed the Dolphins' decision not to tag Miller, which didn't come as much of a surprise.
Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post reported last week that Miami general manager Chris Grier and Miller's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, were scheduled to meet at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis to discuss the situation.
Miller rushed for 872 yards and eight touchdowns during the 2015 season. He also added 47 catches for 397 yards and two scores as part of the team's passing attack.
