Josh Freeman Released by Colts: Latest Comments and Reaction

The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday they had released backup quarterback Josh Freeman.
The Colts now have just Stephen Morris on the roster at quarterback behind Andrew Luck after choosing to not re-sign Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst as well this offseason. 
The move to cut Freeman comes as somewhat of a surprise, as reports emerged in late February that he was the coaching staff's choice to be Luck's backup, not Hasselbeck. 
Freeman, 28, played in one game for the Colts in 2015, finishing 15-of-28 with 149 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception.
He appeared set for stardom back in 2010, his second season in the league, when he threw for 3,451 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 10-6 record. But he went 11-23 during the rest of his time with the Bucs and was traded to the Minnesota Vikings in 2013, appearing in just one game for the team.
