Calvin Johnson Retires as Owner of Multiple NFL Records

With the official announcement of his retirement coming across Tuesday morning, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson will finish his career as the owner of multiple NFL records, though he likely could have added a few more to the list if he'd kept playing.
Most notably, he set the NFL single-season mark for receiving yards in 2012, catching 122 passes for 1,964 yards, albeit with just five touchdowns.
The 2012 campaign marked his third of six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to finish out his career, with Johnson averaging a remarkable 1,425 receiving yards over that span.
Per Sportsnet Stats, Johnson holds the NFL records for most consecutive 100-yard receiving games (eight), most receiving yards in a five-game span (861) and most consecutive games with 10 or more catches (four), having set each of those marks during his historic 2012 campaign.
