James Starks Re-Signs with Packers: Latest Contract Details, Comments, Reaction

Turning 30 as a modern NFL running back usually signals the beginning of the end, yet James Starks is getting a generous payday to remain with the Green Bay Packers.
ESPN's Adam Caplan reported Friday that Starks agreed to terms on a contract with Green Bay. The deal is worth $6 million over two years, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, keeping the veteran with the franchise that brought him aboard as a sixth-round draft choice in 2010.
Starks is actually coming off his best season, capitalizing on the inconsistency of the Packers' bruising ball-carrier Eddie Lacy to acquit himself well during a contract year in 2015. He had personal bests of 601 yards rushing, 43 receptions for 392 yards and five total touchdowns.
Not only was Starks called upon to block and help compensate for a Packers offensive line Football Outsiders rated 23rd in pass protection, but he also had to do a fair amount on his own when he had the ball in his hands last year.
