From Army to Detroit: Caleb Campbell’s First Day Back with the Lions

Caleb Campbell is back in the NFL.
It took two years but he's finally back, and I have a few words for him.
Welcome Back.
The Detroit Lions announced April 30 that Caleb Campbell, along with seven undrafted rookies, would be signed to a contract.
The most intriguing is of course, Caleb.
Caleb was drafted in the 2008 draft by the Detroit Lions with the 218th overall selection, but having entered he was basing off the "alternative service option" which stated if a player is drafted, that he has the option to skip the two years enlistment.
Later that training camp, Campbell was informed that the rule was revised and he would need to enlist. That voided his contract, and that put Campbell back into the pool to be redrafted.
Then following his two years, Campbell has returned to Detroit to start a rookie campaign that never really started on a undrafted rookie contract.
