Cornerback Josh Norman's franchise tag was rescinded by the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday.
Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer reported that the Panthers gave Norman's agent permission to seek a trade prior to the decision, and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that the Panthers do not plan on re-signing the cornerback, who is drawing significant open-market interest.

Norman's Free-Agency Approach, Contract Demands Revealed Thursday, April 21 NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that "Norman has already heard from teams trying to sign him or bring him in for a visit." Rapoport added that Norman was seeking a contract worth "more than $16 [million] per year."
