Dana Stubblefield Charged with Rape: Details, Comments and Reaction

Former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Dana Stubblefield was charged Monday with raping a developmentally disabled woman at his home in Morgan Hill, California.
Yama Hazheer of KRON4.com reported the charge, citing court documents, and indicated the alleged sexual assault occurred April 9, 2015.
On Tuesday, Stubblefield released a statement, per Robert Salonga, Tracey Kaplan and Mark Gomez of the San Jose Mercury News:

I am here to state without any reservation that I am completely innocent of all these allegations. I have worked my whole career to be a part of the Bay Area community. And I have worked in several communities and charities with the church. This is an issue that is very close to me. One of my primary charities is Special Olympics something that is true and dear to my heart. That is why these allegations hurt me so badly.
