Don Shula Hospitalized: Updates on Former Coach’s Status and Recovery

Hall of Fame Miami Dolphins head coach Don Shula was hospitalized Tuesday because of sleep apnea and fluid retention.

Shula Has Been To Hospital Multiple Times in Recent Weeks Tuesday, May 3 Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported the news on Shula, which came via the coach's wife, Mary Anne Shula. She did provide an encouraging update in a statement to ESPN.com's James Walker:
"Coach Shula has been admitted to the hospital due to fluid retention and sleep apnea. The family is looking for a speedy recovery."  
This isn't the first time Shula has been omitted to a hospital recently, according to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, who added he's been "in and out over the past few weeks."
Beasley specified Shula, 86, was hospitalized in South Florida and added he recently presented Miami Heat president Pat Riley with the 2016 Don Shula Sports Legend Award only a few weeks ago.
