Ryan Kalil, Panthers Agree on New Contract: Latest Comments and Reaction

The Carolina Panthers announced Monday that they agreed to a two-year contract extension with starting center Ryan Kalil. 
According to Over the Cap, Kalil was entering the final year of his deal in 2016, and his salary-cap hit for the upcoming season came in at a little over $10.3 million. NFL Network's Rand Getlin reported Monday Kalil's extension will be worth $16.75 million, with $13 million guaranteed.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noted on Wednesday that Kalil will make $13.25 million in 2016, but he will make just $3.75 million in 2017.
Max Henson of Panthers.com shared Kalil's reaction to the deal:
Although the offensive line has been a problem area for the Panthers over the last few years, it's through no fault of Kalil, who is coming off his fifth Pro Bowl appearance and second first-team All-Pro nod in 2015.
