Trent Dilfer, ESPN Agree on New Contract: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Trent Dilfer will reportedly remain with ESPN for the foreseeable future.
According to Kalyn Kahler of The MMQB, Dilfer "has reached a multiyear extension with ESPN and will take on an expanded role this fall."
In a Q&A with Dilfer, Kahler noted "so many reports over the past few months had [Dilfer] leaving ESPN," but Dilfer said he will continue to work on Monday Night Countdown while also joining Sunday NFL Countdown.
Dilfer started with ESPN in 2008 after his NFL career came to an end. He said he will work with former teammate Matt Hasselbeck, Charles Woodson and Chris Berman in his new role on Sunday NFL Countdown.
Dilfer discussed what will come with that, per Kahler: "The pregame thing is different than what I have done in the past, because most of what I've done is reactionary, I'm reacting to what happens Sunday during the day, and now this is a little more predictive and storyline-based."
