Hyde in Concussion Protocol Saturday, Aug. 27 Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group reported Hyde is in the NFL's concussion protocol and was the first player out of the locker room following Friday's 21-10 loss.
Hyde rushed for 30 yards on four carries, including a 27-yard scamper that set up the game's first touchdown, but he managed to record just three yards on his final three carries before departing the contest.
If there's any good news for the 49ers, it's that starters are generally off during Week 4 of the preseason to preserve their health in advance of the regular season.
For Hyde, that week off will serve as a rehabilitation period as he seeks to progress through the protocol and get cleared before the 49ers take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 of the regular season.
