DuPont Mayor Cancels Seahawks Rally Due to Potential National Anthem Protest

In response to the Seattle Seahawks' plans for a demonstration during the national anthem prior to their Week 1 clash with the Miami Dolphins, the mayor of DuPont, Washington, announced the cancellation of a rally for the team.
As Mike Baker of the Seattle Times tweeted, Mayor Mike Courts said the third annual Seahawks rally scheduled for Sept. 10 will not take place due to the risk of alienating or offending residents: 
Wide receiver Doug Baldwin, who has voiced support for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's anthem protests, revealed Thursday the Seahawks are planning a teamwide course of action during the playing of "The Star-Spangled Banner" on Sunday:
Among those who have joined Kaepernick in sitting or kneeling during the anthem thus far are 49ers safety Eric Reid, Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane and Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall.
