Jared Goff to Serve as Case Keenum’s Backup in Week 2 vs. Seahawks

Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher announced Friday that 2016 first overall pick Jared Goff will move into the backup quarterback role behind Case Keenum for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. 
Myles Simmons of the team's official website confirmed the news. Simmons also noted Fisher stated he has made no final decision about the backup spot for the future, which means Sean Mannion could still rotate into the No. 2 spot as well.
Goff was inactive for the team's 28-0 season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. Keenum and the offense struggled in the blowout, putting up just 185 yards and 10 first downs with two turnovers.
The dreadful performance, which didn't come as a surprise given Keenum's history of lackluster play, raised further questions about why Goff couldn't earn the starting job immediately.
