Matt Ryan Throws for Franchise Record 503 Yards

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 503 yards in the team's 48-33 victory over the Carolina Panthers, setting a franchise record and posting just the 19th 500-yard passing game in NFL history, per ESPN Stats & Info.
His day was aided by the 300-yard receiving effort from teammate Julio Jones, but Ryan was able to distribute over 200 yards to his other offensive targets as well. The contest moved the Falcons to 3-1 on the season, two games ahead of each of their three division foes.
Ryan's start to the 2016 season has played a large role in the team's early success, having posted a 91 QBR, 9.5 yards per dropback and a massively improved TD:INT ratio over the previous three seasons, per ESPN Stats & Info. In terms of the traditional passer rating measure, Ryan's first four games place him nearly 35 points over his career average.
