Andre Smith Injury: Updates on Vikings Tackle’s Elbow and Return

Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Andre Smith is dealing with an elbow injury that could cause the starting tackle to miss an extended period of time. It's unclear when he'll return to the field.

Latest on Smith's Playing Status Saturday, Oct. 8 When asked if he was heading to injured reserve, Smith said, "Hell no," per Chad Graff of the Pioneer Press. Smith added he hopes to be back on the field after the team's bye in Week 6. 
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Friday the Vikings fear the ailment may result in Smith being placed on injured reserve.
Smith Among Multiple Injured Vikings OL  Minnesota's offense has been struck hard by the injury bug this season. Teddy Bridgewater, Adrian Peterson and Matt Kalil are all sidelined. Now Smith might become the latest starter to be forced into a long absence.
