Saints Invite Werner for Workout Tuesday, Oct. 11 According to Pro Football Talk's Zac Jackson, Werner was one of a handful of pass-rushers who worked out for the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday:
Werner was one of several linebacker and defensive end-types the Saints had in as the team continues to try to upgrade its defensive personnel. Former Cardinals draft pick Shaquille Riddick, former Buccaneers linebacker Danny Lansanah and former Packers and Chiefs linebacker Dezman Moses were among the other notable names participating.
The Indianapolis Colts selected Werner 24th overall in the 2013 draft, and he had three underwhelming seasons with the team before they waived him in March. In 38 games in Indianapolis, Werner had 6.5 sacks and 81 combined tackles.
