Rob Gronkowski Illness: Updates on Patriots TE’s Status and Return

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski did not practice Friday because of an undisclosed illness and hamstring injury. However, he is ready to play.

Gronkowski Struggling to Stay Healthy in 2016 Gronkowski has been limited at practice for almost the entire season because of a lingering hamstring injury, which cost him most of the first four weeks. Tom Brady's Week 5 comeback coincided with a return to form for the Pro Bowler, who caught five balls for a season-high 109 yards.
Martellus Bennett should be in line for a big day if Gronkowski is forced to the sidelines again this season.
Bennett put up three touchdowns in the Week 5 win over the Cleveland Browns and is off to a Pro Bowl-worthy start. He's brought in 21 passes for 314 yards and four touchdowns over the first five weeks of the 2016 season...
