Geno Smith’s Fantasy Outlook After Ryan Fitzpatrick Is Benched

After the New York Jets' dramatic offseason with starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, they were only able to get six games out of him before replacing the 33-year-old with Geno Smith, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. 
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports confirmed Smith will start for the Jets this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Despite the news, Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported fans should not expect to see the Jets active at the trade deadline:
Following a career season in which he threw for 3,905 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2015, Fitzpatrick ranked 12th among quarterbacks in fantasy football with 272 points, per ESPN.com. Through six games this season, he's recorded 1,441 yards with five TDs and 11 interceptions while amassing 57 fantasy points. 
For fantasy teams that have lost their starting quarterback and are looking for another option on the waiver wire, Smith suddenly becomes an option.
