Dwight Freeney Injury: Updates on Falcons DE’s Quad and Return

Atlanta Falcons defensive end Dwight Freeney will reportedly be a game-time decision for the team's Week 8 clash against the Green Bay Packers because of a quadriceps injury.

Latest on Freeney's Playing Status Friday, Oct. 28 D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution passed along comments Friday from Falcons head coach Dan Quinn about the veteran pass-rusher's status. 
"I'm still going to take it through (Saturday) with Dwight and take him through the walk-through," Quinn said. "He's made significant improvement. I'll take him through (Saturday) and maybe even take it into Sunday morning."
Freeney has registered three sacks and nine combined tackles while working as a situational defensive end for the Falcons through seven games. Atlanta signed him in August to provide depth up front, and he continues to excel in a niche role at age 36.
