Miami Dolphins Release LB Reggie Torbor

In one of the least surprising moves of the offseason, the Miami Dolphins have terminated the contract of inside linebacker Reggie Torbor.

Signed to a four-year, $14 million contract as a free agent in 2008, Torbor failed to rise above a special-teamer and backup inside linebacker in two seasons with the Dolphins.

In 32 games over the past two seasons including three starts, Torbor totaled 54 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one interception. Fifteen of those tackles came on special teams, including six in 2009.

A fourth-round pick by the New York Giants out of Auburn in 2004, Torbor spent four seasons with the team and was a member of the Giants' Super Bowl XLII championship team in 2007.


Analysis

After the release of Gibril Wilson in March, this was the one move I most expected to happen this offseason.
