Cleveland Browns Minicamp: Abram Elam’s Tender, Rookies Hurting, What’s Next?

The Cleveland Browns' mandatory mini-camp has reportedly had its ups and downs, which is okay news since it is June and mini-camp is held to work out some kinks before training camp begins.
With three of their RFAs still a no-show, safety Abram Elam being one of them, the Browns have had to practice mainly with their two 2010 NFL draft picks at safety on the defensive first-team.
Head coach Eric Mangini said he has no issues starting two rookies in the defensive backfield, but in a division where two of the other opponents (Ravens and Bengals) have drastically improved their passing attack by adding new weapons—starting two rookie safeties is a bit scary from a fan perspective.
Elam has until June 15 to sign his RFA tender otherwise he may hold out for the 2010 season. In Elam's case, he does not project to lose over $1 million if he does not sign, like the other unsigned RFAs are scheduled to lose if they do not sign by the June 15 deadline.
