2010 NFL Free Agency: Washington Redskins Tender Jason Campbell

In a turn that most Redskins fans probably did not see coming (or maybe wished wouldn't come), Washington placed a first-round tender on quarterback Jason Campbell today.
Campbell's whole career with the Redskins has come under much scrutiny, due to his questionable decision making on the field.
Basically, the first-round tender means if any other NFL team wants to sign Campbell away from the Redskins, Washington would have seven days to look the offer over and match it or let the QB go.
If a team did make the offer, the 'Skins would get the other team's first round draft pick in the next year's draft.
A first-round tender for a player that has been in the league five years, like Campbell, is generally around $2.621 million dollars. However, Campbell carries a higher price tag, around $3.1 million; the amount is determined by calculating 110 percent of a player's 2009 base salary.
