2011 Dallas Cowboys: Decaying of the Infrastructure

My father and I have had multiple conversation about his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He moaned the draft day fiasco in 2004 when the Cowboys traded their first round pick to the Buffalo Bills, losing their opportunity to take a certain running back from Oregon State, Steven Jackson. Jerry Jones then tried to (literally) purchase a draft pick from, then commissioner, Roger Tagliabue (Jones was shot down). 
The Cowboys opted to take Julius Jones from Notre Dame. We all know how that worked out. What could've and should've been! 
Even though Jerry Jones has erected a monster building, his team has high expectations, high salaries, but low performances.
You know this team is capable of more.  
He's is constantly tempted by talent, not necessarily the right talent for the team, or at the right price (Roy Williams).
