2011 NFL Draft Grades: Will Jordan Todman Be Productive for San Diego Chargers?

Grading San Diego's Selection of Jordan Todman in 2011 NFL Draft
Running back was not high up on the list of priorities for the San Diego Chargers heading into the 2011 NFL Draft. They got good production out of Mike Tolbert last season, and they used a first-round pick on Ryan Matthews in 2010, so there was no need for them to go after a big name like Mark Ingram.
However, the Chargers are parting ways with Darren Sproles, and they found a replacement for him in the person of Jordan Todman. The Chargers drafted the former UConn star with the 183rd pick in the sixth round.
Like Sproles, Todman is a smaller back who gets by on speed and elusiveness. Also like Sproles, Todman is fearless, and that should play well in San Diego.
