2011 NFL Draft: Is Cam Newton a Sign of Things to Come?

The 2010 college football season was filled with quarterbacks who can beat you through the air and on the ground. Cam Newton-type quarterbacks are beginning to become more and more common every season.
This trend has not hit the NFL quite as hard, but it might be coming sooner than you think.
With the NFL draft a couple months away, it seems likely that Newton will be a top 10 draft pick this year and (depending on the team that drafts him) will be given a chance to start right away.
NFL teams might start looking for more quarterbacks like Newton as the game continues to change. Defenses are getting faster every season, and slow quarterbacks are becoming more and more of a liability. Teams are starting to demand more mobility from the quarterback position.
