2011 NFL Draft News: What Is Cam Newton Looking To Prove By Holding A Workout For The Media?
The nation's best player in the 2010 College Football season is breaking away from the NFL standard and its much-loved routine.
As the NFL Scouting Combine looms in late February, Newton has scheduled a "media-only" workout in Del Mar, California.
According to NFL rule, scouts cannot attend a workout that is not the Combine, Pro Day or in the player's hometown.
The curious decision is just another one in the long line of questionable situations surrounding Newton and his family.
The quarterback may possess the most upside of any player in this Draft, but "wowing" media members that have little football knowledge and no connection to the NFL organizations that will be deciding on whether he is worth their selection, makes little to no sense at this point.
