2011 NFL Draft Will Be Loaded With Surprises, Don't Expect One With Seattle
McShay's McPick: Jake Locker, QB, Washington
The Seahawks certainly could use a quarterback. Matt Hasselbeck is a free agent and isn't likely to be around much longer even if he does re-sign. And just because Charlie Whitehurst played well in the division-clinching regular season win over St. Louis doesn't mean the Seahawks want to lock him up after 2011, when his contract expires. 
So taking a quarterback makes sense. And since Locker is from the area and played his college ball right down the road from Qwest Field, he would make for a great PR pick. According to McShay, 
"Locker would be in an ideal situation sitting behind Hasselbeck and Whitehurst in 2011, giving him time to work out his mechanics and get the practice reps he needs to become more accurate and consistent."
But Locker has become something of a controversial figure in this draft, not for any character reasons...
