2011 NFL Draft: Washington Huskies’ Jake Locker Not Attending Draft in New York

Staying true to his roots is 21-year-old football sensation, Jake Locker.
Instead of going to New York to attend the 2011 NFL Draft in person, he is electing to stay home, presumably to be with family and friends during the event.
Is Jake's loyalty to his hometown fan base a testament to his desire to continue playing locally?
Locker answered questions following his workout on the UW campus, where most notably he expressed gratitude for all of the support he has received from the area he grew up in.
Q: "Where do you plan to be for the draft itself?"
Locker: "I'm going to be at home."
Q: "Were you contacted by the league by [about?] coming to New York?"
Locker: "Yes, sir."
Q: "You just decided not to?"
Locker: "It's an honor, and I appreciate the invite, but for me, I want to be with the people that have been with me my whole life and helped me get to this point.
