The Lions Address A Need With Second Pick

The Detroit Lions are in the third year of their rebuild, and this is the year it really could start paying dividends.

The Lions already are out of the Top 10 in the draft, which is a sign of progress, and now they are looking at plugging holes instead of starting rebuilding projects in various areas of the team.

One position of need is cornerback, and the Lions take Curtis Brown with their second pick. With Brown, the Lions do not have to sweat the possibility of losing Chris Houston in free agency.

If Houston stays, then the Lions potentially have two quality cornerbacks to start the season, although Brown probably will need a little bit of grooming and experience to catch up to the pro game.

Still, if Brown is as good as the scouts think he is, he should be able to catch up to the speed of the pro game after a few weeks and become a productive corner fairly quickly his rookie season.
