2011 NFL Mock Draft: St. Louis Will Likely Miss Out on Julio Jones at 14th Overall:
It was a match made in NFL Draft heaven: St. Louis and Julio Jones. Alabama's Jones was a highly regarded receiver that would slide to the Rams at 14th overall with Georgia's A.J. Green as the clear top wide receiver.
Then Jones had to go and mess it up.
Jones destroyed the NFL Combine, running a 4.39-second 40-yard dash, leaping 11'3" in the broad jump, skying 38.5" in the vertical jump and turning heads. Then the Legend of Julio grew when news broke that he did all that on a broken foot.
Jones elevated himself to be a near can't-miss top 10 pick. With his impressive size and dynamic play-making—despite average hands—Jones now shows the speed and athleticism that teams weren't sure were a part of the package before.
It's no longer likely that St. Louis will be able to aid its receiving corps appropriately in the first round. Is trading up for Jones worth it?
