2011 NFL Mock Draft Tabs Ryan Kerrigan As Newest Member of New England Patriots
Wes O'Donnell's Pick: After the Jacksonville Jaguars stole J.J. Watt right out from under the Patriots, New England will have to turn their sights to the player Jacksonville left on the board, Ryan Kerrigan.
New England acquired this pick from Oakland in exhange for Richard Seymour. Watt would have been a great pick here, but Kerrigan is pretty special consolation prize.
The Purdue defensive end is relentless in pursuit and knows how to close on the quarterback. I found him to be more athetic than I expected during workouts and when factoring in his work ethic and attitude, he is easily one of the best defensive ends in this class.
Coach Bill Belichick will find a way to get the most out of Kerrigan, assuming of course the Patriots don't trade out of this spot.
