2011 NFL Mock Draft: New England Uses The 17th Pick To Fix Their Defensive Line

Bill Belichick Upgrades A Weak Patriots Defensive Line With Cameron Jordan From Cal
New England is able to do things that most other teams can't do. They won 14 games last year, and they have two first-round picks this year thanks to the trade of Richard Seymour.
The Patriots demise in the playoffs was the result of two things: their inability to get downfield with their receivers and virtually no pass rush in that game against the Jets.
They will take care of the latter problem with the first of their two first-round picks with Cal defensive end Cameron Jordan. There is some debate about whether he can play in a 3-4 scheme in the NFL, but he worked primarily in that kind of system at Cal and did just fine.
Getting Jordan to come off the edges with Vince Wilfork in the middle will be an immediate boost to the Patriots pass rush. Just another case of the rich getting richer.
