2011 NFL Mock Draft: Packers Pass on Defensive Help, Go OL in Danny Watkins

The Packers have a lot of flexibility when it comes to picking last in the first round. First, this is the last chance for teams to trade into the first round for a player they want and avoid the early 2nd round chaos.

 

Secondly, they have the ability to draft a 3-4 defensive end or a 3-4 outside linebacker, both minor needs but with very good players available at both positions here. However, if he's available, I think they'll go with with a high ceiling, smart, versatile prospect like they have many times in the past in Danny Watkins.

 

Last year's first rounder Bryan Bulaga is their future left tackle for this team, but they still need help inside at guard and at right tackle long term, and Watkins has the potential to fill both roles. Muhammed Wilkerson is a strong option here as well as Brooks Reed, a late riser.
