San Diego Adds Muhammad Wilkerson With 18th Pick In 2011 NFL Mock Draft
Adam Wells' Pick: San Diego had an interesting year in 2010. They finished first in the NFL in total offense and total defense, but only finished 8-8. They were the first team since the merger to lead the league in both categories and miss the playoffs.
Without any major needs, the Chargers can draft the best player available. In this case it's Muhammed Wilkerson, the big defensive end/tackle from Temple. 

The Chargers can use the versatility on their defensive line with the 3-4 scheme. Plus, he can help that pass rush off the edge, which hasn't been the same since Shawne Merriman was suspended for PED's in 2008.

Wilkerson played defensive end primarily at Temple, but he can play either end or tackle in the NFL. It all depends on what the situation calls for and how he adapts to the positions as he gains experience in the NFL.
