2012 Fantasy Football Week 11: Wide Receivers (WR) Rankings
November 14, 2012 · Sean E. Douglas · Jump to comments
The Raiders have struggled to run the football all year, forcing Carson Palmer and the passing game to play well in order to remain competitive. With the way their defense has played of late and the Saints coming to town, you can bet Palmer is in for a day of possibly 50 or more passing attempts which would mean big things for Denarius Moore.
Moore struggled with hamstring problems this summer and came on slow this season as a result, but in the past five weeks, Moore is seventh in the league in targets, with 22 receptions for 392 yards and four touchdowns. Few wide receivers can rival those numbers and with possibly his most favorable game of the year, you can understand why I have him as a WR1 this week.
What Did We Learn From Week 10?
– Brandon Marshall went up against one of the better defenses, lost Jay Cutler to a concussion and still had an impact on the game, going for over 100 yards. Jason Campbell is capable of getting the football to Marshall and should keep him productive if Cutler is down for a stretch.
– Danny Amendola returned to action after the bye week and picked up 11 receptions for over 100 yards against the 49ers. Nice day, but it could’ve been much more as he missed out on about a 80-yard reception in overtime because Rodger Saffold forget to declare himself correctly to the officials (second time in the game) before the play started.
– Another big day for Calvin Johnson and as long as he can suit up we need to have him in our lineups, no matter the knee concerns. Finally, Johnson and Matthew Stafford hooked up for a touchdown last week, the first time this season they’ve done that.
It appears Johnson is ready to return to weekly WR1 status and the Lions should breakout and post the type of numbers we expected from this offense in the summer.
Sean’s Week 11 Watch List
– Look for Andre Roberts to continue his breakout season for the Cardinals as Arizona will be forced to throw the football again, as the Falcons figure to build up a big lead.
– The Jets have their problems on offense but Jeremy Kerley continues to be an active part of the passing game. If you look to any receiver on this team, Kerley is your man.
– The Chiefs have major problems on offense, but expect Dwayne Bowe to see eight or more targets on his way to respectable numbers against a below average Bengals secondary.
