As the first-overall seed in the AFC, the Denver Broncos know the road to the Super Bowl goes through the Mile High City. They took another step closer to their goal Sunday with a 23-16 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the divisional round.
Peyton Manning started the game at quarterback for the Broncos after missing six weeks during the regular season with a foot injury. Even though Manning was the starter, the Broncos utilized their rushing attack and world-class defense to secure the win.
Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak is proud of how his team persevered, not only in this game but throughout the season.
“I’m very proud of our organization and our team, but what you just said is exactly what we’ve been about all year," he said. "There hasn’t been one way that we’ve won. We’ve kind of won all kinds of different ways.”
