5 Most Underappreciated Players in the NFL

This is a hard list to make up. You could go ahead and name lineman all day and you wouldn’t be wrong, however, there is much more to it than that. It’s sort of expected that those in the trenches won’t get the love. I wanted to go for guys who normally get love that don’t. Alex Smith is a perfect example of that. He’s been able to lead the Niners to a winning record.
That should certainly mean something. At the end of the day, I think it’s easy to overlook quarterbacks who don’t WIN teams their games. But we’d be blaming Smith if the 49ers were abysmal. At the end of the day, Smith is doing a great job—and it shouldn’t go unnoticed.
It’s a hard list to put together, and I’m sure you’ll disagree in some parts, but let me know where I went wrong. There were a lot of guys to consider. Bringing it to five was tough.
