A.J. Jenkins Released by Chiefs: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

The Kansas City Chiefs announced they waived wide receiver A.J. Jenkins. The former first-round pick spent two years with the organization.
Kansas City confirmed the roster move on its official site in a release that also noted the release of veteran wideout Donnie Avery.
Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle notes the trade that sent Jenkins to the Chiefs, which also featured Jon Baldwin heading to the San Francisco 49ers, didn't work for either side:
The 49ers drafted Jenkins with the 30th overall pick in the 2012 draft. He didn't make a single catch in one season in San Francisco before the team traded him to the Chiefs.
The Illinois product played 28 games over two seasons with Kansas City. His production remained subpar with just 17 grabs and no touchdowns.
