When the Atlanta Falcons signed Dan Quinn to be their head coach, head-scratchers like Akeem King being drafted in the seventh round were going to happen. The Falcons have a unique profile for every player at every position, and King fits the profile for cornerback.
The position itself might be a bit log-jammed with Desmond Trufant, Robert Alford, second-round pick Jalen Collins, Ricardo Allen and Phillip Adams already all at the position, but Atlanta having a ton of talent at the cornerback position is nothing but a good thing.
 
On the field
The Falcons apparently consider King to be a cornerback and not a safety. That makes perfect sense for his fit too. He's a raw athlete, but he's almost the same physical profile that Collins and almost any other Seahawks cornerback had.
