Amini Silatolu to Bears: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction

Former Carolina Panthers guard Amini Silatolu reportedly reached an agreement with the Chicago Bears on a one-year contract on Wednesday.
Rand Getlin of the NFL Network first reported the agreement. Adam Caplan of ESPN provided the details of the deal.
Silatolu, 27, started 15 games for the Panthers as a rookie in 2012, but numerous injuries have limited him to just 13 starts in the past three seasons. He appeared in nine games for the Panthers in 2015 and started three games, but a torn left ACL ended his season. A torn right ACL cut his season short in 2013.
But the interior of the offensive line, with Trai Turner, Andrew Norwell and Ryan Kalil, was the strength of a Carolina unit that Khaled Elsayed of Pro Football Focus ranked as the second best in football. That made the injury-prone Silatolu expendable this offseason, allowing him to hit free agency.
