Unproven Players Being Asked to Play Integral Roles
The Jets' recent draft consisted of four players: a cornerback, an offensive lineman, a running back and a fullback. Four positions most teams need to fill and the four players most may have taken to fill them.

Nothing out of the ordinary here, on the surface, that is.

CB Kyle Wilson was too good a bargain to pass up with the 29th pick. Mike Tannenbaum (above) had to take him. The fact that he is a Jersey kid doesn't hurt, either.

Wilson will be the third CB behind Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie. He will play in certain packages as well as spell those veterans. It is arguably the best three-man CB tandem in the league.

The team's fifth-round pick, FB John Conner of Kentucky, was a need selection to replace Tony Richardson, who will turn 39 in December. The Jets are still considered a running team and Conner will be relied upon to spearhead the effort.
