Asking Eagles Fans & Writers: Did Jason Avant Drop Kolb’s Hail Mary?

The Question:
Asking my Eagles writers & fans: Was Kevin Kolb’s Hail Mary, on the last play of the game against the Washington Redskins, dropped by wide receiver Jason Avant?

The Answer:
Yes.
Avant clearly had two hands directly on the ball, and it was as if he then threw the ball forward. It would have been the NFL Play of the Year (and it would have changed everyone’s opinion on Kolb), but an NFL receiver, especially one with hands like Avant, should catch the ball.
Nobody touched it.
If that’s not a drop, what is a drop? Yeah, it was awesome that he was even able to get there in the first place, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a drop. That play could end up costing the Eagles a spot in the postseason.
