Atlanta Falcons Defense Flying Under Rader, Ready To Show They Can Keep Up

With all the talk in Atlanta about Matt Ryan, a healthy Michael Turner, and what could be a prolific offense in 2010, the defense has flown under the offseason radar.

Perhaps the biggest offseason move to bolster the Falcons’ vulnerable defense was the free agent acquisition of Dunta Robinson from the Texans. Robinson signed a six-year in the offseason, including about $22.5 million in guaranteed money.  Robinson, a Georgia native, will aid a Falcons’ secondary that gave up 3,871 yards through the air in 2009, good for 28th in the league.

Veteran defensive end John Abraham, who had 5.5 sacks last season, said the improved secondary will help the defensive line get pressure on the quarterback.
