Ben Roethlisberger: Broken Nose Requires Surgery

Ben Roethlisberger just underwent his second facial surgery in five years.
Early in Sunday's critical game against the Baltimore, Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata hit Roethlisberger in the face, breaking the quarterback's nose.
Roethlisberger, who had already been hampered by a sprained foot, was bleeding profusely on the sidelines and his nose was visibly mangled. No personal foul or illegal hands to the face flag was thrown on the play.
But he returned, didn't miss a play, and led the Steelers to a 13-10 comeback win thanks to his fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Isaac Redman. During the win, which helped Pittsburgh take control of the AFC North, Roethlisberger completed 22 of 38 attempts for 253 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Monday, Ngata was fined $10,000 for the hit, while Roethlisberger underwent surgery to repair his nose. He is expected to play Sunday when Pittsburgh hosts Cincinnati.
