The Detroit Lions are already down a tight end, with Eric Ebron nursing an MCL injury and bruised knee, and now Brandon Pettigrew is dealing with a knee ailment.

Pettigrew Out for Week 6 Sunday, Oct. 18 DetroitLions.com's Tim Twentyman announced that Pettigrew is out for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears after popping up on the injury report on Saturday.
Pettigrew suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1 and proceeded to miss the Lions' next three games before returning for a Week 5 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
How Pettigrew's Absence Impacts Lions A few years ago, Pettigrew's injury would've had a bigger impact on Detroit's passing game. Across his peak 2010 and 2011 years, he averaged 77 receptions and roughly 750 yards per season.
Since 2011, his numbers have been steadily declining. In 2014, Pettigrew caught 10 passes for 70 yards. He also started just nine games, the lowest single-season total of his seven-year career.
